Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Press Conference

Head Coach Kyle Shanahan
Press Conference – November 6, 2026
San Francisco 49ers

Opening comments:
“For the game. We’ve got [WR] Christian Kirk, out. [WR] Deebo Samuel, out. [WR] Mike Evans, out. [DB] Siran Neal, questionable. [CB Upton] Stout, questionable. [WR] Demarcus Robinson, questionable. [CB] Nate Hobbs, questionable. Go ahead.”

What happened to Christian Kirk?
“Hurt his meniscus yesterday.”

Will it require surgery?
“We’re not sure yet. Still trying to decide.”

Are you expecting to activate Robinson and Hobbs or still TBD on those two?
“Most likely D-Rob. Not sure on Nate.”

DL Nick Bosa all clear to go and what’d you see from him in practice this week?
“Cleared to go. Had a real good week. I’m excited to have him back.”

Did he tear his meniscus?
“I don’t know. It said meniscus.”

There’s buzz about WR Brandon Aiyuk and NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus coming and going to the business offices, meeting with team officials. Will you have any role in that?
“No.”

A lot of talk about Aiyuk. What’s going to happen today?
“No clue. Your guess is as good as mine.”

What would you like to see happen?
“Could care less.”

Is there an incentive for you guys to have this thing be over as quickly as possible with all the noise that’s going around with it?
“It’s been over for our football team for a long time, so I don’t hear much except questions about him today. But, it’s not too big of a deal for me to answer.”

Is it your understanding that if he comes off the reserve list, that he goes automatically onto the active list and that you guys would have to make a transaction to accommodate that?
“I’d have to ask a lot of questions to get that answer. I think it’s complicated. I haven’t asked one question. I look at this as zero to do with our football team. Anything that has zero to do with our football team, especially during the season, I will give zero thoughts to.”

But, doesn’t it affect your roster? That affects your football team.
“I’m sure if it did, people would be letting me know.”

From ESPN Mexico, what do you remember from the game four years ago and what are you looking forward to in two weeks?
“I loved playing in Mexico. It was awesome getting there. We ended up getting there late at night, so we had to change all our team meeting schedules. But, I remember walking through the hotel, the first impression. It was just packed with people. Felt like a rock group or something coming into a building because people were going crazy. I remember how cool the atmosphere was. We weren’t the home team, but it damn sure felt like it. They were awesome. Excited to go back.”
