49ers Announce Roster Moves
The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed DL Chris Slayton to the team’s practice squad and placed DL Darrion Daniels on the practice squad Injured Reserve List.
Slayton (6-4, 316) was originally drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round (245th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Slayton spent part of his rookie season on the Giants practice squad and later spent part of the 2020 season on the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons practice squads. In 2021, Slayton was on the Falcons practice squad and Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad prior to being released by Pittsburgh on November 2, 2021.
A 25-year-old native of Crete, IL, Slayton attended Syracuse University, where he appeared in 49 games (42 starts) and finished with 107 tackles, 9.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, three passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
