49ers Announce Personnel Department

The San Francisco 49ers today announced that Tariq Ahmad and RJ Gillen have each been promoted to new roles in the team’s personnel department.

Ahmad has been promoted from Director of College Scouting to Director of Player Personnel. Ahmad finished his 10th season with the 49ers and his third as Director of College Scouting. In his role, Ahmad managed the daily operations of the college scouting department and their evaluations of players among colleges to help prepare for the Draft and free agency.

Gillen has been promoted from Director of Pro Personnel to Director of Player Personnel. Gillen finished his ninth season with the 49ers and his first as Director of Pro Scouting. In his previous role, Gillen managed the daily operations of the pro scouting department and their evaluations of players among the various professional leagues to help prepare the club for acquisitions through free agency, trades and the daily player transactional movement. Gillen also assisted the coaching staff through his advance scouting.
